Over the years May 4th has become known as Star Wars Day. Small celebrations are happening all over Southern California. Perhaps the biggest celebration of Star Wars on this day happens at Disneyland. Even more than the events, pictures, and foods that Disneyland provides for their guests, it is the passion of the fans that truly makes the day something special. With all of that being said, I quite enjoyed my Star Wars themed day at Disneyland. Taking a ride on Hyperspace Mountain (the Star Wars themed version of Space Mountain) was a GREAT way to start my day. Here is a run-down along with some pictures of what happened.
May the 4th Food
They had a Hoth themed Star Wars popcorn bucket which is being sold at the Tomorrowland popcorn cart today (May the 4th) and tomorrow. At Galactic Grill they had a Dark Side Chicken Sandwich, Loaded Fleet Fries, Padawan Punch, and a Rogue Slush.
Here is the complete run-down of what we tried on our Instagram post from today (May 4th):
They also had a reddish/orange colored watermelon slush that they called a Rogue Slush at Galactic Grill, but I didn’t try that one. I also didn’t partake in the red or blue churros which are basically churros with colored sugar to make them like lightsabers. Those churros were being sold at the churro cart in Tomorrowland. Additionally, Disneyland has a dish from Alien Pizza Planet called Outer Rim Pasta. The Outer Rim Pasta is pasta that comes with sausage, peppers, creamy tomato sauce, and tomato relish.
Here are a few standalone pictures of the food, drinks, cups, and popcorn buckets that were specially out for today:
Photo Ops
They had numerous signs throughout the Tomorrowland area with Star Wars logos or May the Fourth logos. Everywhere I looked there were smiling faces and people genuinely excited for the photo opportunities.
The March of the First Order
The March of the First Order has happened before at Disneyland, but I don’t believe it has happened since May the 4th last year. Captain Phasma marches through Tomorrowland with her storm troopers looking for Rebel (Resistance) scum. So many people wanted to see that it made it hard to track the whole march, but the video above catches most of the action.
As you can see, Disneyland packed a lot of fun into the day, but as I previously mentioned the fans of both Disneyland and Star Wars make the day extra special. The enthusiasm definitely helped the force to be with me on this day!
