The latest Black Tap restaurant has opened in Downtown Disney, Anaheim. They are primarily a burger and shake place, but don’t let that fool you into thinking that you’re getting run-of-the-mill burgers and shakes. They have some serious food for serious eaters out there.
We were only able to try a few of the items, but I’ll say this – we enjoyed every item. We will definitely be back to sample more of the eats, treats, and drinks.
The Cotton Candy Shake ($17.00)
This shake is ridiculous – in a good way. It has a vanilla frosted rim with blue, pink & pearl chocolates topped with a pink lollipop, rock candy, whipped cream & cotton candy. Everywhere you look in Black Tap there are crazy shakes. They all looked really good! Ours was quite tasty which was nice considering the price for a single shake. We devoured and drank this as a family.
The Pizza Burger ($18.00)
The pizza burger is a prime burger with marinara, shaved parmesan, and FRIED MOZZARELLA STICKS! Lettuce and tomato are optional garnishments on the side. The fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. In hindsight, I think it would have been tasty and fun to try one of their special dipping sauces that are available for a small fee. Bring napkins – lots of napkins, because this thing is messy. I think it was well worth the hassle of constant clean-ups though. The fried mozzarella sticks gave it a super cheesy and pizza feeling as you were eating it. If you are intrigued it is definitely worth trying at least once.
Crispy Chicken Tenders ($9.00)
Exclusive to the Anaheim location is a kid’s menu for ages 9 and under. Our girls tried the Crispy Chicken Tenders and were satisfied. Being the good dad that I am, I took a bite (or three) of the tenders to see how good they were. The chicken was crisp on the exterior and salty/juicy on the inside. Not going to make any heads explode with this one, but it’s solid. Pairing this with the dessert shake and our girls were in heaven.
