TSA Bans Star Wars Coke Bottles *Updated*

*UPDATE – TSA issued a new statement, saying, “We have completed our review, and instructed our officers to treat these as an oversized liquid.” So guests can store them in their checked luggage.*

Original Story – The Transportation Security Administration has recently let it be known that the famous Coke bottles from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are not allowed on flights. According to the OC Register and the TSA Twitter page, the Coke bottles that look like thermal detonators (made famous in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi) have been banned from checked and carry-on luggage. This is bad news for people who were looking to take them home as a souvenir after visiting Disneyland or Disney World. Here is the tweet confirming the ban from the TSA:

In a quote from the O.C. Register article Scott Trowbridge said the following about the Coke bottles, “The design of this thing just looks cool…kind of thermal detonator-ish. It’s kind of awesome.” Little did he know that TSA would take it so seriously. What do you think of the Galaxy’s Edge Coke (and by extension the Sprite and Diet Coke bottles) bottle ban on flights?
