Once upon a time Ghiradelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop in DCA offered a ‘Strawberry Soda’ float. The item is still available, but is not on the official menu. It also has crept up in price from the first time we got this item. Though it is not on the menu all you have to do is ask for the “Strawberry Soda” float. They will let you know that they have to charge for each component of the float since it’s not an official menu item.
Strawberry Soda ($14.55 for a medium; $13.09 after Legacy Passholder Discount)
This menu item is utterly delicious – it has strawberry soda, layered with whipped cream, hand-scooped strawberry ice cream, and comes topped with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Make sure to grab napkins because this one is both delicious and messy! The float is unique because of the way the whipped cream and strawberry ice cream gently meld into the strawberry soda. If you’re not a fan of sweet, strawberry treats then you might want to avoid this one, but for strawberry fans – this is a treat!
