Food at Off the Cob
Mini Chicken Chimis ($8.00) – with Chimichurri Corn Pico de Gallo and Chipotle Crema
These Mini Chicken Chimis were one of my festival favorites. The chimichurri corn pico de gallo and chipotle crema were perfect compliments to the chicken chimis. I found myself immediately wanting more of these. The fried tortilla-shell was deliciously crispy. I could definitely see myself ordering these again. Beware of spice if you are sensitive. I found it to be just the right hint of spice, but had a few people tell me they thought these were spicy. Know your own sensitivities and you’ll be fine.
Shrimp and Braised Corn ($8.25) – with Chorizo topped with Green Onions and crispy Corn Kernels
Shrimp and Braised Corn
The shrimp and braised corn dish comes with chorizo topped with Green Onions and crispy corn kernels. The shrimp is the standout in this dish with the braised corn being a nice compliment. I didn’t, however, care at all for the chorizo, green onions or crispy corn kernels. They seemed took away from the flavor, rather than added to the flavor, in my opinion. Ultimately, I didn’t love or hate this dish. If you’re a fan of shrimp then this one might be worth your dollars, but for my dollars I wouldn’t spend the money again.
Mickey-shaped Caramel-Peanut Milk Chocolate Macaron – This tastes like a fresh, soft Snickers bar in macaron form. The peanut crumbs on the exterior added a nice texture to go along with the peanut butter-caramel filling. 5/5 from us. The macaron itself is gluten friendly according to both a chef and a cast member, but they warned that there could be cross contamination.
The Farmstand Punch has Simply Orange, Pineapple Juice, Peach, and Grenadine. So sweet and refreshing! Definitely getting this one again at some point. The flavors blend together perfectly – this should be a drink you or your kids try.
