New Signature Po’ Boy Fails To Live Up To Its Predecessor

The French Market Restaurant in Disneyland has reopened with an updated menu. Gone is the French Dip Sandwich which has been replaced with the new Signature Po’ Boy ‘Slow Roasted Beef’ Sandwich. The French Dip Sandwich was one of the better sandwiches in the Park, so I knew I’d be holding its replacement to a high standard.

Slow Roasted Beef Sandwich ($14.49)

It has slow roasted beef, fried onions, and horseradish sauce on a rustic roll with Au Jus in a small side cup. It also came with a bag of chips which were a big drop off from the Cajun seasoned house chips they used to serve. I’ll say this, I like the French Dip more, but this sandwich wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be when I opened my plastic container and took my first glance at it. The beef was a touch dry, but the wetness from the au jus and horseradish helped balance that. I would say that it would have been nice to have more Au Jus in the side cup I was given. I’d give this a 3/5 on my personal rating system. Satisfying once, but I don’t think I would order it again until the house chips make a return.

The pre-packaged chips were a bit drop-off from the house chips they previously served.
More Au Jus would have been nice – the Au Jus added good flavor to the sandwich.
