Mobile Ordering To Be Expanded When Disneyland Reopens

The groundswell for Disneyland to reopen is beginning to reach a fever pitch. Earlier today Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro was part of an exclusive webcast presentation in which he stated “80,000 jobs rely on Disneyland’s operation…we are ready, and more importantly – it is time (to reopen).” In addition to calling for Disneyland to be given guidelines by Governor Newsom to open their gates the OC Register published an article detailing an expansion coming to mobile ordering at the Disneyland Resort when they are allowed to reopen.

The Tropical Hideaway at Disneyland and Studio Catering Co. at Disney California Adventure will be among the new locations offering mobile ordering when the parks reopen, according to Disney officials. To promote less contact between guests and cast members Disneyland will strongly encourage mobile ordering as the primary way to order food and beverages at participating quick service restaurants once the parks reopen. Lastly, the Disneyland app will expand mobile ordering payment options beyond credit cards when the parks reopen with the addition of Apple Pay and Disney gift cards. Disneyland will also lower the minimum age for mobile ordering from 18 to 13 years old.

OC Register

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Disney find a way to implement mobile ordering at every quick service restaurant in the parks. We could also see them implementing QR codes on tables in their table service restaurants like many restaurants are doing in Downtown Disney. Thank you to the OC Register for all of this info. An announcement could come any day (tomorrow or 15 months from now) about Disneyland reopening, so we will do our best to give you all of that information when it is made available. Thanks for reading!
