Frightfully Good Eats and Treats at DCA

Disney California often plays second fiddle to the more iconic Disneyland Park, but that is definitely NOT the case this year. They are hosting the Oogie Boogie Bash this year, and the decorations throughout the park are second to none – our personal favorite is that Radiator Springs has become Radiator Screams! There are loads of holiday season options for you to eat and drink to your hearts desire, but here are six frightfully good eats and treats to try before Halloween Time vanishes at Disney California Adventure Park to go along with our list of the six things to eat at Disneyland Park.

Bacon Cheddar Ale Soup from Pacific Whart Cafe ($11.49)

Hands down one of the best meals from among the Halloween Time offerings. You can never go wrong with bacon and cheddar!!! The soup is rich, velvety smooth, and full of bacon. Not only that, but it also has a rich ale taste to it. I literally wanted another bowl the minute I finished this one. Hope it sticks around past the end of Halloween Time.

Anti-Vampire Chicken Pizza from Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta ($8.99)

This crazy good pizza has roasted garlic sauce, marinated chicken, smoked gouda, mozzarella, roasted red peppers and a tomato-harissa sauce drizzle. It’s been a menu staple for three years running at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta for a reason. Yes, $8.99 is steep for a slice of pizza, but the taste and quality of the pizza make up for that, plus you can save 10 or 15 percent if you’re an annual passholder.

The Spicy Pepper Cheese Stick from Corn Dog Castle ($8.99)

This Halloween offering returns for the season. It is a pepper jack cheese stick dipped in batter, drizzled with blackberry sauce and topped with sweet pineapple salsa, pickled serranos and crushed cheese puffs. If you get this make sure to take a photo or video of the cheese pull – they can get quite epic!

The Purple Poison Apple Premium Mug with Sundae from Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream ($17.99)

We got The Oswald Sundae which has scoops of vanilla and chocolate ice cream served in a cup (inserted into your Purple Mug to keep it clean), topped with whipped cream, hot fudge, chocolate morsels, cherries, and chocolate-dipped frozen bananas. BUT, you can choose any sundae you want from the Clarabelle’s menu. We loved green last year, and the purple this year is just as awesome! This biggest reason to get this is that you get to keep the Purple Poison Apple Premium Mug!

The S’Mores Churro from Churros near Redwood Creek Challenge Trail

This seasonal churro comes topped with graham cracker crumbs, chocolate chips, chocolate sauce, and marshmallow drizzle. Talk about a loaded churro! The churro cart can get crazy backed up because of the demand for this particular churro, but our advice is to be patient and get this one – worth the wait!

The Sugar Skull Cookie from the Paradise Gardens Park Cart ($4.50)

A sugar cookie decorated with colored white chocolate. There are 4 color options – we love red, so we chose that color! It was big, soft, and delicious. I love Disney cookies and this is among the best I’ve had. I didn’t eat it until the next day and it was still super soft! Head over to Paradise Garden Park to “celebrate the everlasting bonds of family and the spirit of Día de los Muertos—September 6 through November 3.”

That concludes our top 6 things to try at Disney California Adventure Park. Like we said at the beginning there are lots of other options that might rank higher for you. Happy eating during these final days of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort.
