Last night we had our first opportunity to visit Asian Street Eats in Downtown Disney. The new take-out window serves a variety of Asian dishes and is located on the west end of the Downtown Disney District near the old Rainforest Cafe building. The eatery is brought to us by the season 3 winner of Bravo’s runaway hit Top Chef, Chef Hung Huynh.
Sauce Options
You are allowed 2 sauces with an adult mixed bowl and 1 sauce with a kids meal:
- Miso Honey (sweet and salty)
- Teriyaki (sweet and salty)
- Spicy Teriyaki (sweet, salty, and some heat)
- Sriarcha Aïoli (slightly hot)
- Sesame Citrus Soy (citrusty and salty)
- Spicy Avocado (creamy with some heat)
Our Thoughts
We got a Mixed Bowl with Braised Beef Short Ribs with white steamed rice and another Mixed Bowl with Braised Beef Short Ribs with purple Jasmine rice. Both were delicious. The braised beef short rib felt like a luxurious type of beef option at the price point. We sampled the chicken from our kids bowl and it also was delicious. We had the teriyaki and sesame citrus soy sauces. The teriyaki is a go-to staple for us on our Asian bowls, and this was delicious teriyaki. The sesame citrus soy has a more specific taste that, in our opinion, would taste great if you choose to make your bowl a salad. It was vibrant, robust, and tasted good on our bowl. The options here are very affordable and if you are an annual passholder you can save 15% on your order. We wanted to try the pot stickers last night, but unfortunately, they were out of them. So on our next visit we will try the pot stickers and the pancake options. Overall though, we are very happy to have this new option in Downtown Disney.
