I am Groot. Well, that’s what Groot would say, isn’t it? Matthew Panzarino of Tech Crunch broke the story and shared the video that is taking our imaginations captive. There is a life-like animatronic Groot that exists. Walt Disney Imagineering’s Project Kiwi has taken the next step in robotics and they are one step closer to animatronics like the Groot in the video below making appearances in Disney parks around the world.

Panzarino said “This is Project Kiwi, a small-scale, free-roaming robotic actor — the first of its kind for Disney and a real robotics milestone.”
The animatronic is currently Groot-shaped, but Panzarino made it a point to say that this robotic could be used for any number of characters in Disney parks in the future. The project is still early in development, so it’s safe to say that we won’t see them in our beloved theme parks anytime soon. With this news and video though, the future has never looked brighter for the one of a kind experiences guests have come to know and love at the Disney parks.
