When Disney announced that the Disneyland Hotel would be reopening on July 2nd many fans wondered why Steakhouse 55 was not reopening with the hotel. Today we learned via Laughing Place that the signature restaurant at the Disneyland Hotel will be closing permanently. According to Laughing Place Disney has said that they do not have new details to announce about what will replace Steakhouse 55 at this time.
Steakhouse 55 opened to guests on November 27th, 2006, replacing Granville’s Steak House, and was considered by many to be one of the premier dining locations at the entire Disneyland Resort. Their delicious meals, including amazing breakfast options, will be missed by many. On the Disneyland website they boasted the following:
Steakhouse 55 was awarded four stars by the Orange County Register and a Golden Bacchus by the Southern California Restaurant Writers Association. Zagat describes the restaurant as “amazing,” “a gem,” “elegant” and “the best rib eye in town.

Are they out of there minds!! Me and my family love Steakhouse. We’ve loved it since it was Granville’s. Such a poor decision to make. Disney has watered down and ruined every adult venue that they had. Alfresco Tasting Terrace is another victim. Even the Napa Rose isn’t what it once was. So sad 😞
Very, very sad this IS my “favorite” restaurant, not just at the Disneyland Resort, my favorite anywhere.
Best choice for my birthday, anniversary or just a fantastic ribeye steak. The atmosphere, service and food is very, very special, unmatched and has been sorely missed over this past year. I have been so looking forward to its reopening. This loss is almost as bad as losing my Annual pass of 34 consistent years.
It was the best, most consistent quality food and service at the Disneyland Resort. My entire family and I will miss it! So sad.
