Disneyland Resort Report

Though our focus is primarily on the food at the Disneyland Resort, we also would like to keep you updated on some things happening around the resort that we see during our park visits. These visit reports are only going to be based on what we encounter during our visits.

Pixar Pals Parking Structure

Construction is continuing on the soon, relatively speaking, to open parking structure. Below are some photos we snapped of the progress happening. An opening date has not been announced, but we have heard rumors of July or August, though neither has been confirmed.

Taken from the top of the Mickey & Friends Structure – You can see that pavers are being laid and work is being done on most levels of the structure in some capacity.
They’ve laid lots of the brick pavers since the last time we visited!
Hard work being done to get this structure ready for all of the guests!
This was our first time seeing the beginning stages of the bridge construction that will cross above Magic Way and connect with the other side.
The other side of Magic Way. This change is going to be a most welcome addition for guests who frequently walk from the Parking Structure area to the Disneyland Resort.

One of the other changes we noticed is that guests who choose to walk from the Parking Structure area to the Disneyland Resort now have to use the cross walk earlier to cross Magic Way. Immediately after exiting the Mickey and Friends area you must use the crosswalk now instead of turning right. This is almost assuredly because of the new bridge construction, though we will see as time unfolds. It is a small change, but change is change.

Sleeping Beauty Castle Update

About 1/4 of the scrim covering Sleeping Beauty Castle has been removed, and we are getting our first signs of the beautiful refurbishment that has taken place since January of this year. If the rest of the castle looks as good as the portion that has already been revealed then we are in for a treat every time we visit Disneyland.

What has been revealed so far
Same castle, about 15 feet closer for the picture.

Red Rose Taverne Menu Update

We wrote about Red Rose Taverne updating their breakfast menu, and we recently learned that they also have slightly updated their dinner menu as well.

Beast’s Forbidden Burger is the latest addition to the menu
Beast’s Forbidden Burger

Beast’s Forbidden Burger has Wagyu beef steak, 1/3 pound angus beef patty,
béarnaise aïoli, caramelized onions, and pickled peppers on a toasted ciabatta roll, served with pommes frites. Actually, the pomme frites had a new component to them that was insanely delicious – garlic and parmesan! The garlic parmesan pomme frites were so good that I found myself licking my fingers at the end of the meal. The burger itself was also very delicious. I thought the price was a little on the high side, but found no room for complaining after I bit into the delicious burger and tasted the high quality beef. In fact, I’d say that it was the beefiest burger I’ve had in a long time. The caramelized onion steak was a high quality addition. The ciabatta seemed like the only component that could have been upgrade (if only a small amount). If you are ready for some serious eats then do yourself a favor and try this new burger.

Emotional Whirlwind

The Emotional Whirlwind ride on Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure is getting closer than ever to opening as you can see from the picture. The attraction has been given a “summer” timetable for its release. Hope it opens sooner rather than later!

Other Minor Notes

The wall in front of the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is down! It will be nice having our views of the castle and Main Street back.

Lastly, the Hyperspace Mountain overlay will stay in place of the traditional Space Mountain ride through the summer. No end date was given for the overlay.

Thanks for reading and have a magical day!
