New Breakfast Options at Red Rose Taverne

With little fanfare the Red Rose Taverne restaurant in Disneyland has quietly updated their menu for breakfast. They have added two new items and subtracted four items from the previous breakfast menu. The first new item is Stuffed French Toast, and the second new item is the Beast’s Breakfast Burger.

Stuffed French Toast ($9.49)

The Stuffed French Toast

The Stuffed French Toast has orange-marmalade cream cheese *stuffed* in between two slices of French toast. It is then topped with a berry compote. Your side is either bacon or sausage. It was almost like French toast meets cheesecake. The flavors were quite lovely, though not overpowering. If I had two small criticisms it would be that the food tasted as if it had been under a heat lamp for a bit longer than it should have been (not quite 100 percent hot or fresh tasting) and I would have enjoyed a 3rd piece of the French Toast for the $9.49. So while I wouldn’t give it a 10/10 on my personal rating scale, I did enjoy it enough to want to order it again – take that for what you will.

The Beast’s Breakfast Burger ($10.99)

The Beast’s Breakfast Burger is a 1/3 pound angus patty, rosemary-maple cream cheese, hickory smoked bacon, scrambled eggs, and seasoned waffle cut fries on a toasted roll. It was extremely filling and on par with the great breakfast sandwich at Galactic Grill. Worth trying if you like a savory breakfast sandwich/burger option.

Items No Longer Available

Four items that can no longer be found on the menu are the Breakfast Sandwich, the Open-aced Croque Madame, the Breakfast Flatbread, and the Buttermilk Pancake Platter. The breakfast sandwich had glazed ham, cheesy egg soufflé, hickory-smoked bacon, country aïoli on a brioche bun, served with red-eye jus and choice of taverne potatoes or fresh fruit. The Open-faced Croque Madame was the meal with the baked egg on top of ham, gruyere, bechamel sauce, seasoned tomatoes on top of thick country style toast. While the breakfast flatbread had bacon, egg, mozzarella, potatoes, lemon béchamel sauce and greens on top of crispy flatbread. The buttermilk pancake platter was simply 3 buttermilk pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon on the side.

As always, remember to mobile order to save time! If you’ve tried these new breakfast items what did you think? Are they nice upgrades and/or updates from the previous menu? Let us know!
